So yesterday I posted about my sick D70. This is just a follow-up post to explain the past problems. After a few weeks of owning the D70, I realized it might have the somewhat common backfocus problem that seemed to plague new DSLR camera bodies a few years ago (Canon and Nikon both had issues). [...]

So I’m on vacation this week in beautiful New Hampshire. The leaves are a rainbow of fall colors in the already beautiful countryside. New Hampshire weather, while not the best for laying at the beach, is very interesting, photography-wise. And what do I do? I leave the camera at home.
We made this decision because we [...]
Just like everyone and their brother, I need to make a post about the D80. To start, here’s some specs:
Sensor: 10.2MP CCD APS-C format (1.5x “multiplier”), 3872 x 2592 pixels
Sensor Readout: 2 channel (D200 is 4 channel)
Flash Sync: X and FP. Max sync speed 1/200s
Maximum continuous shooting rate: 3fps for 100 frames (JPEG) or 6 [...]
I’ve always admired infrared photography. Sportshooters.com has a nice article about Tom Dahlin, infrared sports photographer. While I find the technical aspects interesting, I’m blown away by some of the photos. This one looks magical, like a basketball poster heavily modified with Photoshop.
Some day I’m going to get an extra camera and have it converted. [...]
Well, probably not the ulimate. And it’s not here. But you can find it here! I can recommend Ken Rockwell, but with a small grain of salt. Everyone knows he’s a Nikon fan and he’s not afraid to show it. Regardless, this how-to guide is pretty good. So if you’re new to the D70, or [...]
So I had to get in at least one flower shot during the thirty days. And ifyou didn’t notice, I took it during the day! I’ll be the first to admit, this isn’t my best work. But the 30 Day Challenge is tough!
Taken with my Nikon D70 and 24-85mm AF-S. All the camera settings are [...]
10 days down, 20 to go. I’m running out of things to shoot in my house.
This photo taken with my Nikon D70, Nikkor 24-85mm AF-S lens, and SB-800 wireless flash. Not much else to say.
Here’s the second part of my shaving submissions to the 30 Day Photo Challenge. It’s my shaving brush if the title didn’t give it away.
Shot it with my Nikon D70 and Nikkor 24-85mm AF-S at 85mm. It was taken at f/4.5 and 1/30 sec. I did a little levels adjustment and unsharp mask in Photoshop. [...]
