Year In Pictures: Christmas, Up Close
We trimmed the tree yesterday. This beautiful star is almost as big as the ones that were in my 3-year-old’s eyes when she saw the tree decorated with all its many lights. Joy and wonder.
Taken with my Nikon 50mm f/1.8D Lens for the Digital Photography Blogs Christmas Macro contest.

Beautiful image. Love the coloration, selective DOF, and overall composition. Greeting card material!

That’s the picture I’ve been trying to capture on our tree! You have given this one a great depth of field, a nice warm tone from the lighting and a great composition.
If I had taken a photo like this, it would have ended up being a desktop wallpaper for a short while on my computer.
(Sorry I’m so late in commenting… I’ve been getting a bit lazy lately about photography related things)

Thanks, John! This is actually my current desktop wallpaper! Also, no apologies needed for commenting late. I have been a bit lazy about everything lately.
