Year In Pictures: Fall Fruits

YIP ~ Day 284

YIP ~ Day 309

Man, I love this time of year. Besides the crisp air and the crunch of leaves, there are also all the yummy fall fruits to think about (and photograph). I’ve been trying, during this year in pictures, to take some snapshots of here and now. So, while I’m in the heart of fall, I thought I’d photograph some of the fruits that are so popular this time of year. (Don’t worry. Pumpkins already got their time in the limelight.) Apples first a couple weeks ago outside in natural light. Persimmons tonight testing out various light sources to see what I liked best. I ended up going with the dim light of the room from the low lamps (which helped give me that warm bokeh background), supplemented by a Coleman camping lantern off to the side to give me some reflection light on the shiny skin and a nice shadow on the wood table.

I have to admit though, I’ve never actually tasted a persimmon. These will be my first. I hope they’re good.
