Congratulations to grae w, the winner of last week’s night portrait contest, for his shot titled “Tessy dog.” We love this shot for so many reasons. The choice of black and white on the dark background is excellent and makes the puppy’s lighter fur and shiny nose really stand out. We also love the subject’s adorable expression, not to mention the fact that grae w used a dog for his night portrait instead of a person. Way to change it up and keep us on our toes. Great job!

We’d also like to mention our runner up this week. Congrats to Scott Coulter for his striking shot, “Drum Major in the Dark.” We love the perfect use of moody light and profile to get this image.
