November 1st Week Contest: Night Landscapes

YIP ~ Day 80

Argh! Daylight Savings Time is messing up my system. Right now my clock says it’s 9:30pm, but my eyes are saying it’s much later. And don’t even get me started on what it does to my poor kids’ schedules. My little baby, who already had a hard enough time staying awake until 7:00pm, can now barely keep his eyes open all the way through dinner with the family.

But the time change is not all bad. Even while some are cursing the dark, we’d like to think of it as extra hours to get some cool night photography practice in. That’s just what we’re planning to do during the month of November here at Digital Photography Blogs. We will be focusing on the dark: night landscapes, moody portraits in the dark, funky light effects at night, street scenes. It’s time we stopped whining about the lack of daylight and started using it to our advantage! So this week, we’re asking you to get out there and shoot some dark landscapes for a different perspective.

We’d love to have you join along this month. Visit our Flickr group to post your photos to the contest or just link to them in the comments below. Happy night shooting!
