Year In Pictures: Will Someone Stop Her With The Sunsets Already?
The answer is: mostly likely, no. Being in the midst of fall and some really beautiful weather, I will continue to see these amazing sunsets and silhouettes, and I’m sure I will continue to find ways to photograph them.
We live in an area that gets crazy dry winds this time of year, which has the effect of clearing the air and making for some dazzling bright skies. I took this photo a few days ago at the onset of those winds. They had only just begun blowing—enough to clear the sky for a remarkable sunset, but not enough that all the clouds had been pushed away yet. I’m glad a few of them stuck around long enough to give my photo some cool contrast. And I know that powerline sitting there almost smack dab in the middle of the image breaks a lot of rules (Hmm…wasn’t I just preaching the rule of thirds?), but sometimes you need to break a few rules to get the shot you like.
