October 1st Week Contest: Old Buildings And Signs

Old

Where did we get all this old stuff? My family and I are doing a yard sale this weekend. “Out with the old,” as they say. And I’m just going to go out on a limb and guess that you all probably have quite a few old things lying around, too. But you don’t have to sell them or give them away or trash them. This month, we’re giving you full permission to photograph them instead! This month’s theme focuses around all things old—old, abandoned buildings you pass on a country road, old inherited objects lying around your garage, old faces stitched with weathered lines, old friends. Old has a way of looking so wise, beautiful and even mysterious when captured in a photograph. This month, we’re excited to see old things in a new way.

For our first week, join us as we capture old buildings, structures and pieces of architecture that are all around us. Just the signage alone is enough to get our fingers clicking. Feel free to zoom in on the details or use a wide angle to capture complete structures. However you photograph them, just be sure to add your photos to our group pool on Flickr so we can follow along!
