Year In Pictures: The Artist And Her Obsession

YIP ~ Day 251

Painting is my daughter’s new obsession. She paints and paints these elaborate pictures for us all day. Yesterday, the United States of America with an elephant and some clouds. Today, a rainbow and a turtle. Tomorrow, who knows? I can’t wait to see what she’ll come up with.

I took this shot with my 50mm f/1.8 Lens on my Nikon D40x with the focus on the painting she was working on. I wanted to put the artist and her finished work out of focus enough that you noticed them only after you noticed her current masterpiece. I can’t possibly save them all, so photographing them will make me smile just as much years from now as I did today when she created these.
