Year In Pictures: Shiny New Tricycle
She wanted a bike for her birthday. We found her a snazzy little Radio Flyer tricycle, since she loves her wagon so much. She definitely approved of our gift choice. And of course I had to snap a bunch of photos while it’s still shiny and new.

I need to get my kids this kind of stuff! My oldest daughter has a plastic tricycle that her grandma bought her. She likes it, but it just isn’t as nice as the red metal ones that I got to play with when I was a kid.
Where do you get Radio Flyer tricycles and wagons these days?

And I like how you took those photos. The compositions are great. Very inspiring. I need to find something to shoot with my 50mm f/1.8.

@John - We got ours at Target. The tagline on the box was, “Like the one you rode as a kid” or something like that.

Thanks, John! Yes, the shiny toys are just so much more fun to photograph. Especially up close with my 50mm. Have I mentioned I really love that lens?!
And yeah — we couldn’t believe they had that beautiful tricycle at Target. And like Chris says, they use that tagline to really sell it to the parents!

I don’t recall having a Radio Flyer when I was a kid. I do recall having a metal tricycle, not a plastic one!
The plastic was reserved for the big wheels.
I’ll keep an eye out for those at Target. We have a 4th birthday coming up in October…
