September 1st Week Contest: Perspective (From Below, Looking Up)
We’re welcoming a new month, and with it a slew of new photography contests. This month we’ll be focusing on different perspectives in photography, starting with this week’s perspective contest: “From Below.” You’ll have a chance to shoot all that is above you this week, but look for other perspectives in the weeks to come. Want to try shooting down from on high? What do you see when you’re inside looking out? How about a short depth a field with a lot of great bokeh? It’s all about perspective, baby! And we want you to join in with us on this fun journey this month.
As usual, you can head to our Flickr group to post your shots and join in the conversation. But even if you do (or don’t!) have a Flickr account, you can also post a link to your image(s) in the comments below. We’ll consider that a submission, and you’ll be entered for a chance to have your photo featured on our front page. Now go get shooting those birds and clouds and big tall buildings—anything above you is fair game. You have our permission to try out a few new perspectives this month!

This is a great picture Amy! I love how the light is making the petals look transparent. I’m excited about the new theme this month, it will give me a challenge!

Thanks, Lisa! Can you believe that flower shot is from my point and shoot days? I’m looking forward to this monthly theme, too. It’ll be fun to try out a few new perspectives!
