Year In Pictures: Enjoying The Great Outdoors, Suburban Style

YIP ~ Day 233

I’ve been trying to enjoy these last days of summer as much as I can. I know summer doesn’t officially end until well into next month, but to me Labor Day always marks the end of the season. Since it’s so hot during the day around here, I’ve been venturing out for photo opportunities in the evening lately. The shot above was taken during tonight’s amazing sunset. I know I’ve said it a time or two, but I just love a good sunset with plenty of silhouettes.

The picture below was taken yesterday in a last ditch effort to grab a photo in the last light of day. I was captivated by the unlikely urban reflection of wires and transformer I saw in the puddle. To me, the focus of the straight power lines is so striking next to the blurry fuzziness of the curly hose.

What about you? Have you captured any great end-of-summer outdoors shots lately? Leave a link in the comments if you want to share.
