Year in Pictures: Bear, Up Close

YIP ~ Day 216

One for our August contest “Getting in Close: Random Objects.” Hey, any toys left out after bedtime are fair game for mama’s photo challenges!

I edited this photo with Picnik, and I have to say I’m pretty impressed with the service. They offer a bunch of free editing tools, such as effects, fonts, shapes, and frames. You can use some more advanced tools for an upgrade fee. It’s definitely a good option for those of you who want to mess around with editing software without the cost of Photoshop. And, best of all, you can edit your photos after they are already uploaded to Flickr (or a number of other social networking sites such as Myspace, Facebook and Photobucket.) It’s worth a look!

I love it! It’s a nice change from the greens & blues I’ve been looking at in my own pictures.

Thanks a lot, John! I wasn’t too impressed with any of my shots last night, but editing a little in Picnik helped win me over a bit. But it is true that anything can look more interesting if you just take a different perspective and get a little closer!

It almost looks painted to me.
