Macro Shots with Compact Cameras

Pine You can get great results with the Macro function on a compact camera. I generally reach for my compact camera when shooting macro because you can get so close to an object when shooting in daylight. When I was out on a walk the other day, I shot these baby pine cones. Using a wide lens, I placed the camera only a couple of inches away from the needles. You can really feel the texture of the pine cones, and these red pine needles popped unexpectedly. They didn’t look as red to my eyes, and I was pleasantly surprised when I loaded the pictures into the computer.

This is a great shot, such detail. I love using the macro on my camera, too. When the bees start buzzing around the lavender in my backyard, I find the macro setting combined with the continuous shooting mode produce some nice results.

Want to start your private office arms race right now?

I just got my own USB rocket launcher :-) Awsome thing.

Plug into your computer and you got a remote controlled office missile launcher with 360 degrees horizontal and 45 degree vertival rotation with a range of more than 6 meters – which gives you a coverage of 113 square meters round your workplace.
You can get the gadget here: http://tinyurl.com/2qul3c

Check out the video they have on the page.

Cheers
