New Canon DSLRs

Old news by a couple days, but Canon introduced two new DSLRs, the EOS-1Ds Mark III (long enough yet?) and the EOS 40D.

EOS-1Ds Mark III

The new model combines a 21.03 million image pixel self-cleaning sensor and maximum 5 fps shooting rate in a body that’s nearly identical in appearance to the EOS-1D Mark III, and shares most of that camera’s features and specifications as well.

EOS 40D

The new model includes a self-cleaning sensor, new-design 9-point autofocus system (all points are cross-type), maximum 6.5 fps shooting rate, 3-inch (diagonal), 230,000-dot rear LCD with Live View, a larger viewfinder, Highlight Tone Priority, High ISO Noise Reduction, a dedicated AF-ON button, the ability to configure a Speedlite wireless flash setup via menus in the camera (when the attached flash is a 580EX II) and more.
