Canon PowerShot SD800

My new Canon Powershot SD800 IS Hurray, I have a new camera! I went to Samy’s Camera this morning thinking I would buy the Canon A640, and I came home with a completely different camera! It’s soooo pretty and so little. It’s a Canon PowerShot SD800 IS ELPH, with 7.1 megapixels and and an image stabilizer in the lens (which is totally cool). It’s a teeny tiny thing that will fit in my pocket and has a good quality video camera, too. The battery is charging, so I have to wait to start taking pictures! Aaaarghhhh!

Will never understand this move??
I have the Pentax 10D, Canon A620, and the Canon A640. hehe I think you were sold a sink hole in Beirut..
For P/S Canon is the leader, no doubt! and although the sd800 is nice, it is not the A640 by any stretch of the imagination, nor is it the A620. This just goes to show, different strokes for different folks.

Well, you may be right, but I shot with this camera for the last week and I’m very pleased. It has a stabilized lens and face recognition. The images are punchy, sharp, and the response time is very fast. While it’s not quite as fast as the A640 (.2 secs slower), it’s half the size and the A640 doesn’t have the lens stabilizer. Since I carry my camera around with me everywhere, I thought I’d go with the smaller camera this time.
