When Your Camera Makes Your Photo Editing Decisions For You

Carousel, unedited=weird! So this is how my camera rendered this carousel ride photo I took on a recent trip to the mall (click to view larger). In the thumbnail on my computer, the image looked fine and ordinary — although I was pretty excited about the fun blur and motion capture that appeared to be going on. When I opened up the image in Photoshop, what showed up was this funky mosaic. What in the world? Totally not something I created. Kind of creative and interesting, nonetheless.

I can’t claim credit for this one. It appears that my little point-and-shoot is just cutting out the middle man from all the storyboards and mosaics I’ve been making with my photos. Feeling left out of all the editing fun, I guess. Go, camera!
