Day 31 - Oh Heavenly Pineapple

Oh Heavenly Pineapple I bought this beautiful pineapple yesterday and, as I do with all pretty produce, I wanted to photograph it.  A picture formed in my mind of a pineapple all a-glow.

Last night, I tried to overexpose a white background card using an off-camera flash, but the shot looked really lame.  So this morning, when the sun was pouring into my office, I put my pineapple on a low table in front of the window and overexposed the background by 3 stops.  That made the white window sheers blow out completely, giving me the look I was after.

I didn’t do much to this shot in Photoshop, I just boosted the blacks and the saturation a tad.  The pineapple is a strange looking fruit.  The more I stare at it, the freakier it looks!
