So I’m over half-way through the Photo A Day challenge from DP Blogs — one photo every day for the month of March — and I have to say, I’m really into it this year. I have entered many photography challenges over the past year, none of which I have finished. But I’m sticking to it this time and I feel very confident that I will finish this and will have a few new photos in my Flickr feeder that I’m really quite proud of.

I love photography. But it’s always been a hobby that for me was the first thing to get cast aside when things got busy. I am realizing from doing this challenge that the only way I will ever improve in my skills is just to keep doing it as often as possible.

When my daughter was born I naturally gravitated toward the camera because I wanted to document every last moment of her new life. Now I’m striving to not only document moments, but to make interesting images. But even now, like today’s shot above, I still like taking fun shots of my daughter just playing around.

We’re all on the mend from that crazy illness that hit our house, so hopefully I’ll have some fun and interesting photos to show for the second half of this month. Thanks for coming along with me on the journey!
