Today is a blah day for me in the world of Photo A Day. I’m sick as a pig (haha - get it?) and it took everything in me just to pull out my camera for one photo today.

I threw a shower for a friend at work today, and we went with the “Year of the Pig” theme. The Chinese believe that babies born this year are fortunate, happy and honest. What a great thing to celebrate!

And since both my kiddo and I seem to have come down with something together (on top of my killer allergies!) I only went in to work to help with the shower. Now I’m home and medicated and off to bed. Hence, the rather bland photo for today. I almost went with black and white to add a little more interestingness to this image, but ultimately, the orange won me over, so I stuck with the color. A great trick when you want to make your colors pop is to simply add a black border to your photos.

Thirty days of consecutive photos are bound to yield a few non-winners, right?
