Day 8 – Slide

Day 8 Slide Chloe had her first ever trip down the slide today. Fear mingled with excitement and trepidation was the name of the game. And you can see it in her face! (It’s definitely worth it to click on this picture and see the larger version!) I held onto Chloe with my left hand and shot from the hip with my right hand. The 17mm lens helped to keep everything in focus and in the frame. The roundness of the slide together with the wideness of the lens worked well together too.

1st Slide EverI’m so glad I’m doing the 30 Day Challenge because I had my big camera with me to document this moment. The camera phone just wasn’t going to cut it and a kid’s first slide down the slide is a big deal. Sure, it’s a pain in the neck to lug around in my giant purse [along with the omnipresent sippy cup and of course the baby crack (crackers)]. But it’s definitely worth it. I’m still in the honeymoon phase of the 30 Day Challenge, 1st Slide Everbut I’m almost tempted to extend this challenge long term…? We’ll see how I’m feeling at around Day 23.

While Chloe was getting her thrill on, I was suppressing my fear, excitement and trepidation as she climbed up the stairs by herself! She kept teetering backwards! Oh my gosh, what will I be like when she’s on the monkey bars or on the back of some punk’s motorcycle!?
