I Feel Like Columbus…
I’m a techie kind of guy, but I’m not an early adopter. Pretty much every piece of technology in our house was bought a year or two after it’s initial release. The reason? I don’t trust new stuff and hate being a beta tester for something I paid money for. So it might not come as a surprise that I’ve just discovered podcasts - about two years after everyone else in the world. Since we switched to Ubuntu in our house, I’ve been playing with the Rhythmbox media player and it’s podcast support, which is really decent. Of course the first feeds I started downloading were “This American Life” and “Wait, Wait…” from NPR. Then I started branching out by looking through Yahoo’s podcast listings. I found a pretty cool photography podcast called “Tips From the Top Floor,” a fairly entertaining show with lots of tips for amateur photographers looking to get the most out of their equipment. Chris Marquardt does a great job of avoiding excessive tech-speak, which is essential for a radio show, and the show has one of the funnier themes I’ve heard on a podcast. Take a second and visit the site and play through a few shows. It’ll be worth the effort.

I listen to all 3 of those podcasts regularly. The Candid Frame (http://www.thecandidframe.com/) is an excellent podcast with interviews with photographers — lots of inspiration for amateur photographers, I think. I have links to lots of tech podcasts which I recommend at my blog.
(I just found and added your site to my RSS reader today).
