How to Build a Panoramic Tripod Head

200px-PanoHead1_515 I found a great article on Wiki-How about how to build a panoramic tripod head. It seems pretty simple for those with basic carpentry skills. It might be a bit beyond my abilities, but maybe Shayne could tackle it…? A panoramic tripod head will let you take even panoramic shots to be stitched back together in your computer. So if you shoot in one direction and then keep taking shots as you pan the camera, you can stitch these images together to make a very wide panoramic shot. A tripod makes these shots look much better than hand holding the camera.

I love Wiki-How. You never can tell when you’ll need to know how to survive being mauled by a bear or how to make your own feta cheese. That’s good stuff.

If anyone tries making this tripod head, please let us know!

Thanks for the wiki-how tip. I’ve thought about building this pano-pod, but I keep hoping Manfrotto will come out with a nice $30 one!
