Photo Tip of the Week: Angle the Camera

Doug Want to inject some fun into your candid shots? Simply tilt the camera! Just angle the camera, take the shot, and it will instantly look like you and your friends are having a party. I find that angling the camera also puts your photo subjects more at ease. The formality melts away and they loosen up to have fun with taking pictures. “These are just silly snaps,” they think, “so I can let my guard down and be myself.”

Amber I have LOADS of angled shots in my photo album. Looking at them, you’d think that I’m always drunk when I take pictures. Alas, no. I just like pictures of my friends and family to look fun and energetic. Give it a try!

Hm, interesting tip, but you must remind everyone not to do this an excessive amount. As different photos are great, you can only break the rules so much before it just gets absurb. Nice captures of the peoples’ attitudes though, nicely done!

In the case of Doug and Amber, there usually IS a party around somewhere!

Especially when its drunk Amber. “I love you guys!”

Nice shots. The motion of the lights in the background really help set the mood.
