Turn A Whole Wall Into A Digital Photo

Bert Ernie rasterizedOnce again I bring you a great photography tip for parents from our friends at Parent Hacks. Want some unique wall art that doesn’t cost a fortune? Try the rasterbator. (Yes, that is really what it’s called. Stop your laughing.) What’s a rasterbater, you ask? It’s a web service that creates huge images from any picture, which can be printed and assembled into extremely cool looking posters up to 20 meters in size.

The cool thing about this is that you can decorate a wall using your own photographs — the possibilities are endless, really. This makes decorating a wall so much more fun.

How does it work? Well the rasterbtor website has a great FAQ, but to sum up: “After you have cropped the image and selected a desired size, the rasterbated image will be sent to you as an easily printable pdf file.” Then you can simply print it out and assemble it on the wall of your choice. Easy as that.

Creative? Yes! Free? Well, as free as your costs for color printing (although you can always do a black and white image instead, if cost is an issue). I haven’t tried this yet, but I think I feel an art project coming on soon. I’ll let you know if I’m brave enough to go for it. I mean, that’s one big picture!
