Fixing Backgrounds with the Clone Stamp

I got inspired by Amy’s recent post at Shooting The Kids about clearing the unwanted clutter out of the background of photographs. Using the Clone Stamp in Photoshop is super easy and I used it this morning to eliminate an unwanted sidewalk. I like this picture because Chloe seems so pensive, and the pink dress against the green grass looks colorful and summery. But the sidewalk in the background doesn’t add to the picture and looks kind of ugly. Enter the Clone Stamp. A few minutes work was all it took to transform an ok picture to one I really like.
