Fantastical Fun Flickr Fotoset
I just found the funnest freakiest group of pictures on Flickr! Aaaargh! Jeff has created fantastical “creatures” made from mirroring images of real animals in post production. Very fun stuff.
When I wrote to him about his cool mirror shots, here’s what he told me:
“The animal mirror images were created using Jasc Paint Shop Pro: much more user-friendly for me than Adobe. I’m surprised by what I get, though I try to previsualize the finished piece before I take the picture. By experimenting with different crops, I can fine tune things. Still I’m surprised somtimes. Like magic. The feeling is the same for me as when I used to print my own photos & watch the image slowly manifest itself in the developer.”
His more traditional photography is quite beautiful. Worth checking out.

Is it me or does that thing look like that monster creature from those weird Quiznos ads a few years back? “We love the pepper bar!”

I’m here to set the record straight as to what this creature is. Would have responded yesterday but my monitor died. It lived a good life & will be missed, but it has gone to a better place, a place without…oh,yes… this creature is…well you’re all correct. It is whatever to see it to be. So big stars for everyone!!! Actually the critter started out life as an ostrich (profile view). Mystery solved. Thanks Stephanie for the article. I really enjoyed it. Big star for Stephanie!!!

It might have started out as an ostrich, but it ended up landing a sort-lived spokesman gig for Quiznos.
