TechCrunch on Yahoo Photos
TechCrunch posted today about yet another upgraded service from Yahoo! – their Photos site. I’m already in love with Yahoo’s new front page beta (and of course their widgets), but with unlimited uploading for free and features that go beyond Flickr, we might have a new favorite when it comes to storing and sharing our photos online.
I’ve signed up for the beta and would love to hear your experiences if you’ve already got access.

I think I’m too ingrained with Flickr to think about moving. The real question is how long before they integrate the two?

That’s what I was thinking John. If Yahoo already owns Flickr, why don’t they just give unlimited server space there?! There’s already so many people comfy here.. Hmph.

I always wonder why a company like Yahoo would purchase Flickr in the first place. Web apps aren’t rocket science, so they’re not buying the technology. In the end, they’re purchasing the community – the vast amount of information that Flickr has been gathering about it’s users and their habits.
Since that’s the case, it makes complete sense to build a whole other, even competing service that would bring in the anti-Flickr crowd, just to maximize your information gathering ability.

That’s true Chris – good point. They’re almost like the goverment, watching our every move.. Shoot, we’re guinea pigs!
