Worlds Greatest Invention

Just having been to a big scientific convention where the guests were asked to list the 10-greatest inventions of all time, I thought I'd relay this story. While the lists, which had been compiled by the top scientific minds of the era, were being read, there was a sudden 'harrumph" from near the esteemed audience. In the shadows, off to stage right, stood the auditorium janitor, quite obviously disagreeing with the selections. Having enough, the lead-scientist asked the man what he thought was the world's greatest invention. The man, not skipping a beat, told the audience that the choice was clear. "Think about it..." he said, " it's got to be the Thermos-bottle!" thomas With a loud laugh from the obviously highly educated audience, the lead scientist broke in and asked how this man could have come to this conclusion. "Well..." said the man, again in his stride, "it keeps Hot things HOT...and cold things COLD...." The genius in the invention is, How does it know?" A Southern California native, Jim Dennewell has had a fascination with photography since elementary school. Weaned on his family's old Kodak Brownie cameras (you know, the ones where everything moves backwards in the viewfinder), Jim has fostered his love for the art and tech of photography over the years.
