Jake’s Roadhouse Cafe
There’s this place up in Monrovia, CA called Jake’s Roadhouse where Amy and I go to indulge ourselves with smoked polish sausages and veggie omelets. For a while it was our Sunday morning getaway. We just went there on my birthday and happened to bring the camera along.
As we finished up our coffee and the Daughter began to get fussy, we decided to pull out the camera and have an impromtu photo-shoot. The light coming in the window was diffuse enough to make the shadows soft, but the contrast was still good. Of the shots from that morning, this one stood out.

I think the lesson I’ve learned in this whole 30 Day Photo challenge is that it pays (in terms of personal satisfaction) to carry your camera with you everywhere you go.

Chris & Amy, Welcome back, hope you were all okay. Nice casual portraits. I like the feeling b&w gives.

Chris,
Is it just me, or are you now 50% jollier?
