New Comment Requirement
I’ve been getting slammed by spam the last few days. It’s happened frequently over the past few months, but usually only lasts an hour or two and then goes away for a week. But this time it’s relentless. These ruthless spam-bots have forced me to finally take action. So unless we find a better solution, your comments will only go through for people that have already had approved comments. If you’re a new commenter, your comment will be moderated the first time through. So if you’re a new commenter, please understand that your comment will not show up immediately. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Ya – we’ve had the same on ours as well. Sort of interesting how certain sites just get hit like crazy. Gotta wonder how they decide on that.

Well, I almost deleted your comment out of habit today. I’ve had at least 10 comment spams/hr over the past 24 houts.

[...] A while back I mentioned that I had to turn on comment moderation to kill the spambots. Now the problem is that I get so much spam to moderate that I’m sure I’m deleting real comments. If you submit a comment and don’t see it within a day, it means it probably got swept up in the “delete all”. If so, send me an email and I’ll get it posted. [...]
