Photo a Day – Week in Review (Days 16-22)
OK, OK — I’m really bad at this Photo a Day challenge. It’s not that I’m not taking pictures. It’s that I’m too darn busy to upload them to Flickr and then blog about them. But I’m taking pictures. That should count for something, right?
Alright, I’ll stop making excuses and get to posting some pictures. Since last week was crazy, I’ve got Days 16-22 to catch up on. Whew! The photo shown here is one of my favorites of the set. It’s today, Day 22 — The Daughter and Daddy playing the keys. It’s so fun to watch her learn new things every day. The camera was set to manual so that I could hold the button down and attempt to get one good shot out of the many, many taken.
Day 21 is one of my favorite shots so far. This was taken in the parking lot after work. The clouds were gorgeous and the hills were a perfect silhouette — great timing with the sun just setting.
Day 20 was a quick shot of The Daughter learning something new. It was her first attempt at drinking like a big kid. The sippy cup! Had to use flash because the light in the kitchen was pretty dim.
Day 19 — just another day in the garden, this time my neighbor’s. She has cool, ecclectic taste. This lovely garden wizard sits right outside her door in a flower bed. I got underneath him (yes, lying on the ground) for a different perspective.
Day 18 was my gratuitous flower shot of the project. Everyone’s allowed at least one! The sun and the colors were so beautiful in my garden. I just couldn’t resist. This was taken on automatic with the macro setting on — my new favorite!
Day 17 is The Daughter with a friend. He was so cute when we asked him to give her a big love. No hesitation, just bent right down and kissed her! Camera on automatic and the only shot I took that day, so it’s going to have to make the cut!
The original of Day 16 was in color, but there was nothing that made it stand out. When I changed it to black and white in Photoshop, I instantly liked this shot better. Babies in black and white always look classic.
Whew – only about a week left to go!

Thanks for sharing the flower shot, good job!
This shot, however, of the “teacher & student” is just incredibly awesome!
