Picture of the Day 9 – Bark
This is the bark of a sycamore tree in our yard. It rained and rained this morning, and made the bark all kinds of cool colors.
I’m kind of out of it today. My mom is visiting from out of town and we’re trying to put Chloe on some kind of sleep schedule. It’s throwing me all off. But I love the feeling of looking out the window and seeing a potential photograph. This morning, the clouds parted and the light became bright and sparkly with the sky dark and ominous. I threw on shoes while still in my pajamas and grabbed my Nikon (I love saying that). Here are a couple more from this morning. I love the cumulus clouds here because we never see those in Southern California. I miss big puffy clouds. I used my new ND.6 grad filter on the first picture to make the bottom corner look more substantial.

Great bark shot. I love these types of shots with natural colors and textures.
