Well winter has come to Southern California today, unlike BadDog’s picture of the beach-life taken this past weekend. Being cooped up all day today while working on some feelance stuff, I didn’t get much of a chance to get out and get a picture (not that you have to go outside to take good pictures, just ask Stephanie).

Since it was freezing here in SoCal (never even hit 70 degrees!…ooops, sorry Steve…), and also wet. I figured I’d go outside and test the weather-seals on my Nikon D200. At the same time, I’d make a tribute to the Allman Bros.

I set my D200 up on a tripod, set the ISO to about 200, put the shutter-release on “timed” and snapped away at the rain falling in my ‘hood. I used my Nikon 18-200mm VR zoom at it’s widest setting & hovered over my camera to shield it from the rain.

You can tell by the photo that it’s wet outside, and since I’d gone out in my shorts and t-shirt, it was pretty cool, so I came back inside, made some Campbell’s soup and snuggled down for a harsh California winter. From what the weather reports are saying, Lance should be back down at the beach shooting pictures by the next weekend….
