Yahoo Widgets Rock!
For so many reasons, I’m a fan of Yahoo! Widgets, the new name for Konfabulator. If you’ve ever used Dashboard on OS X, then you know exactly what it does, but if you haven’t – think of it as a way to have little mini-apps either on your desktop or accessible on a secondary desktop that give you cool functionality that you’d always like to have at your fingertips. For example – I often need to check out the size, in pixels, of something on a web page I’m creating, so I just hit F8 and up pops the Screen Ruler. Hitting F8 for no reason becomes something of an addiction.
But my favorite widget right now has to be the Rubber Ducky. That’s right – it’s just a rubber ducky that sits there and when you click on him, he quacks. Couldn’t be simpler. Couldn’t be cooler. Of course, there are also other cool tools, like the Day Planner and such. But a rubber ducky – that just rocks.
Just a little non-photography tip from me to you.

I like GasWatch. Even if I don’t feel like driving the the cheapest gas, at least I know when the bottom is when comparing prices.

Let me know when they come up with the Yahoo! Catheter, will you? Those long sessions of reading DPBlogs need no longer be interrupted by trips to the necessary!

Oh salty Mustafa, if you only knew the truth of it. Yahoo! Catheter is one of the hottest Web 2.0 projects being developed right now, with Google hot on their trail for a web-based Google Desktop clone. Microsoft alone has spent over $37 million in corporate espionage to find out just how Yahoo! Catheter does it’s “magic.”
Also – who doesn’t love a Desktop Duck?
