You probably already know this, but there’s a recall for certain lots of the battery for the Nikon D100, D70, and D50. Something about it burning up and melting. I guess that would be bad. Although, then I would have an excuse to get a fancy new Nikon D200. Ken Rockwell as all the info.

I wanted to point out that the lot number is not the easiest to find. And most of the announcements out there fail to really tell you where to look. So here’s my contribution to humanity, today. The lot number is printed with black ink on black plastic. Fantastic choice there, Nikon. You’ll have to hold the battery on an angle to make out the numbers. Luckily, neither of my D70 batteries are part of the recall.
